Identity Crisis: Sinners Dinner
As we continue to think about our Christian identity, it occurred to me that Jesus spent a great deal of time with sinners. Sinners is not a very politically correct word these days, in fact churches shy away from talking about it too much, a little like money, but Jesus spends a great deal of time talking about both of these spiritual hurdles. Our Sin is the driving force behind Jesus' earthly arrival, it is the thing that has to get reconciled before our relationship with God can be restored. It's interesting that Jesus didn't encounter sinners on street corners with a bullhorn, but at meal time! This again isn't about feeding people but about what the meal symbolizes about relationship. Join us Sunday as we all sit at the table of the Sinners Dinner!
