NOVEMBER - FAITH
“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for,
the conviction of things not seen.”
“For by grace you have been saved through faith.
And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God,
not a result of works, so that no one may boast.”
“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives
generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.
But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts
is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.”
“And Jesus answered them, “Truly, I say to you, if you have
faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what has been
done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain,
‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ it will happen. And
whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.”
“The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!” And the Lord said,
"If you had faith like a mustard seed, you would say to this mulberry tree,
'Be uprooted and be planted in the sea'; and it would obey you.
“But you, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God,
slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness.”
Most merciful God, I confess that I have sinned against you in thought,
word, and deed, by what I have done, and by what I have left undone. I have
not loved you with my whole heart; I have not loved my neighbors as myself.
I am truly sorry and I humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ,
have mercy on me and forgive me; that I may delight in your will, and walk in
your ways, to the glory of your Name. Lord Jesus Christ, you stretched out
your arms of love on the hard wood of the cross that everyone might come within the reach of your saving embrace: So clothe us in your Spirit that
we, reaching forth our hands in love, may bring those who do not know you
to the knowledge and love of you; for the honor of your Name. Amen.
